New Orthodox church architecture should relate to its cultural setting. The Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Fathers in Shrewsbury, England, asked me to make preliminary designs for a new church and community hall that they hope to build. We wanted a design that drew on the rich Anglo-Saxon and Romanesque heritage of Great Britain as well as the Byzantine architectural tradition. The design you see below is what I came up with.
